Puttying, Sanding and Painting

Finally we have been able to do some of our own work on the house. A few weeks ago Marc and Dad did a fantastic job of fitting the bi fold doors. Don't worry they're not falling apart we just haven't taken the plastic off them yet, as we didn't want them getting damaged.

We've puttied all the holes and cracks.

Marc's been using an electric sander like a champion and he hasn't managed to break it yet!

Mum and Dad helped with putting the undercoat on the garage

And some kids who looked like they were about 14 came and installed our Central Heating Unit.

Lock Up Stage

Yay things are finally starting to happen! While I'm inside blogging Marc is outside sanding the weatherboards getting them ready for the undercoat. The house is finally at lock up stage. The builder has told us that things will start to fly along now, so here's hoping we're in before Christmas. For those of you that dont know Marc and I are expecting out first child in April so I'm pretty keen to start decorating the nursery early in the new year.
We've had a few drama's at the house with water getting in and damaging some of our belongings and flooring but now we have a roof, so lets hope that's all behind us.

Not Happy Jan!

Frame Stage

Considering the builders have probably only been at the house for about 10 days out of the 7 weeks they have made some real progress.

Walls are up.

After the walls went up we didn't see anyone at the house for a few weeks until the brickies came back to build the shed.

Then we had to wait for the roof trusses to be made!

Bi-fold doors will go in here which will open out onto an undercover patio

Base Stage

Its been 7 weeks since I did my last post and so much has been happening! As we have had no internet access it has made it impossible for me to do any updates. So here are some photos of the extension/reno's to give you an idea of all the progress that has been made.

Rain Rain Go Away!

I know we are still in need of rain but at the moment the Oswin household is in desperate need of sunshine so the builders can start the renovations.
Friday saw the builders mark out the dimensions of the new extension. However it was 1.3 meters short of where it was supposed to be. Upon checking the plans I discovered the drafts person who drew the plans has stuffed up the measurements. After freaking out I phoned the builder whom told me not to worry and advised that he will fix it Monday morning.
Yesterday saw us demolish the laundry which proved to be a little more difficult than first thought. Marc did a fantastic job but is paying for it today!

Surely we should see some developments tomorrow with these parked in our backyard.
This may be my last post for a fortnight as we will have no internet access. I hope to have a lot of progress to report and photos to post when we are back online!
